Pride season is just around the corner – usually a reason to celebrate and dust off our flags.
But just like during some of the first Prides and CSDs, it’s also fear, anger and sadness that accompany us through this time. We are angry because our existences are being violently denied. We are afraid for everything that has been achieved and could be lost again. We mourn those who are no longer with us.
Nevertheless, our voices should remain powerful and our resistance vigorous. This is why we have created the Queer Action Weeks: to open spaces in which we can collect our strength and prepare for Pride.
In addition to the classic demo training and demo 1×1, we want to offer you a range of events on feminist self-assertion as well as on dealing with dangerous situations – whether in groups or alone.
For example, parkour training in heels allows us to remain glamorous and unashamed in demo situations. A workshop on mental self-defence teaches us how to deal with fear and moments of hopelessness internally and collectively, and anyone who has never moderated a demo but would like to try can pick up those skills with us.
To analyse our situation and exchange ideas, we have also prepared a presentation on this year’s Pride and a panel discussion with guests from queer and anti-fascist groups in Saxony.
Our Prides should remain places made for our desire and our demands. Join us in preventive and active resistance and make sure that CSDs in Saxony do not become spaces of fear and right-wing intimidation.

As Queer Pride Dresden, we have been working towards a better future in very different ways since 2020. We are committed to a strong queer community, queer visibility in everyday life and self-confident demands in politics.
Our big demo on 21 June 2025 will be held under the motto: ‘queer and antifacist – our bridges hold solid!’ Because the past year has not only shown in Saxony how important it is to link queer and antifascist struggles. We will give an insight into our activities and invite you to discuss current challenges and opportunities for action.

Communicate – Agitate – Moderate
A skill-sharing workshop for Lauti moderation
Whether it’s a demo, action or rally – good moderation can make the difference between a boring strolling procession and an empowering demonstration.
Have you always wanted to present on a loudspeaker van or rally stage, but haven’t dared to do so yet? Do you already have experience in the role of moderator and would like to share it and pass on your knowledge?
That’s exactly what this skill sharing is for!
It’s all about sharing experiences, empowerment and practical experimentation. We will try out how to prepare for a moderation and speak into a microphone.

Spraying pepper like there’s no tomorrow
Carrying lickers and pepper spray in our pockets gives many of us the feeling that we are well prepared for any situation. Let’s strengthen this sense by practising our aim with practice spray.
Janitor shoos you off the grass? BAM. Ex-boyfriend wrecks your bike? BAM. Mom insists on using the wrong pronoun? BÄM Nazi youngsters sticking to your heels? BÄM BÄM BÄM
How does pepper spray work, what types and recommendations are there? We practise how to overcome and assess danger with role-play situations. At the end you can buy spray.
(Animal defence sprays are only to be used in self-defense against humans, all situations are fictitious and ironic. Woof woof)

The Nazi confrontation at our CSDs also brings a police contact and trouble to our playlist. There are situations in which so-called friends and helpers also direct their state repression against us. Be it through attempts to sweep Nazi streamers off the scene with a YMCA umbrella combo or to practically guarantee the protection of our community.
The Police pretend to be neutral: They only ‘protect’ us to the extent that they enable the ‘protest against our existence in hearing and sight’ (sic) in the first place. With the same ‘neutrality’ they will implement the coming laws of elected fascists against us. We are already experiencing the first leaks, such as the illegal extradition of Maja to Hungary.
Arrests at demonstrations, arrivals and departures, confiscation of flyers and stuff, house searches and criminal warrants must be expected by anyone who is politically active, as an anti-fascist and as a CSD visitor.
What applies to STI also applies to repression: is there heat? Keep calm!
A good precondition for this is trust. Trust in comrades who care about you. Trust in your own confidence in dealing with repression.
In this short action 1×1, we explain the most important basic rules for your behaviour before, during and after an action. Yippee!

In order to be able to act in these moments, this workshop will provide an insight into simple techniques for dealing with dangerous situations both alone and as a group. We will take a close look at our own boundaries, voice, body language and posture. The workshop will also provide space to discuss and try out defensive strategies in groups.

Times like these aren’t easy: safe spaces are threatened, right-wing youths roaming the city in growing numbers remind us of bad old times, no catastrophe could surprises us any more.
Giving up is out of the question – but how can we continue to fight when our fears are not unfounded and hopelessness is gnawing at our last nerve?
This is precisely the question we want to explore in our mental self-defence workshop, which we are organizing together with the WUMS! collective. Over the course of the day, we will work on how to deal with threats and attacks, both internally and as a collective, as well as strategies for remaining politically active despite everything.
In the workshop, we will learn a lot from the expertise of the WUMS! collective, but also from each other. The workshop is therefore aimed at all interested queer people who want to share resources and build resiliency together, whether they already know lots about this topic or not.

Fears connected to the far right in Saxony have been part of everyday life for many queer people for years. However, since the last Pride season at the latest, it has become clear that we have to proactively confront the violence and agitation of far right actors against Prides & queer events.
It is partly in this sense, that Queer Pride Dresden sees itself as an anti-fascist group – based on the real threat of violence posed by the right. But does the shared work begin and end with the common enemy?
In order to shed light on where queer politics and anti-fascism can empower each other, we want to bring people from the different movements on stage and into conversation.
What concrete threats do we face?
What consequences do we draw from the mobilization of the right-wing scene against CSDs in Saxony last year?
How can we protect each other and show solidarity between the movements?
What does it actually mean to connect Queerness and antifascism as forces and concepts? Why should our identities politicise us against fascism?
And perhaps most importantly, being anti-fascist and queer is not a phenomenon reserved for bigger cities. So how do we strengthen progressive structures in rural areas?
